Multitouch Tables & Tabletop displays

The success of the iPhone has captured the imagination of many who see the device as a way forward in defining the next generation of computers. Although attempts by Microsoft´s Surface platform have gained support in niche areas such as premium hospitality and high tech retail, tabletop computing has a long way to go before becoming mainstream. At Visuale, we seek to change that.

Understanding the issues

Cost : Plasma and LCD prices continue to fall but their touch enabled equivalents have continued to maintain their premium. Interacting with touch system vendors, integrators and developers, we understand that this mismatch is due to incomplete understanding of the technology choices on offer. We believe that the experience gained from integrating various resistive, capacitive, and optical components into our early prototypes has allowed us to offer you the best value as well as the most optimum solution for your needs.

Touch Experience and Usability : Touch devices have always encountered negative feedback since its inception. Considering that the application buttons and menus of today are optimized for the classic precision of the mouse cursor, it makes perfect sense. Our innovations in Zooming User Interfaces and application controls, as well as natural gesture recognition is built upon sound practices of understanding user experiences and behaviours. Using the right technologies and tools to do the job, we are well prepared to address these issues.

The Killer Application: is no more than what you are using most today. When an application is optimized for touch, direct manipulation and other advanced gestures, a more refined and natural control is experienced over that of the clicks of the cursor. That along with a more fluid response in navigation and zooming, the killer application may already exist but has not yet been identified for touch optimization.
